On Monday 4 July, the SONCITIES research group will join the Sonic Tehran Network Meeting (online) to discuss ongoing ethnographic fieldwork in London looking at how urban sound environments are produced, negotiated, and experienced by different people and communities living in the city. Sonic Tehran is an interdisciplinary research project funded by the Leverhulme Trust. The Sonic Tehran Network meets once a month to discuss writings on urban sound and creative work that engages with the historical and contemporary sounds of Tehran. The session will begin with a group discussion of selected readings followed by SONCITIES’ presentation, with more time for discussion at the end. With thanks to Prof. Laudan Nooshin for the invitation.
